Grave Encounters
Here’s something interesting.

The Killing, great new show brought to you by AMC, the people who brought you Mad Men and the Walking Dead. The story revolves around 2 homicide detectives solving the murder of Rosie Larsen, wilst its being solved, it’s interfering with a candiate running for mayor, this is because Rosie was found in the back of a presidential car that belonged to him. We also get an insight to see how Rosie’s family deals with her death, and the lengths her Father will go to avenge her.
Stieg larsson, the auther of the millinnium trilogy, who unfortuntly passed away in 2004 after he wrote the girl with the dragon tattoo. He also wrote two unpublished manuscripts; The Girl who played with fire and the Girl who kicked the hornets nest.
The girl who played with fire, was still a good book and had the same writing techniques used in the girl with the dragon tattoo, like how parts of one story are weaved within another, but, I suppose in this one the story didnt seem as captivating, it actually took me longer to read.

I read the book at the end of last year and was captivated right till the very end, it had the perfect mix of character development, twists, a solid plot with likable characters. I really love Lisbeth Salander, I like that she is the black sheep in a heard of white sheep, she’ll only listen to herself, and have no influence from others in deciscions she makes, also she is a brilliant hacker. I also love the way the story was written, each part was weaved beautifully within each other. It was developed into a film, set in its original location of Sweden. I thought the film was great, I did notice though that parts in the book that i thought were great, actually never appeared in the film.

Director of Fight Club David Fincher has been brought in to direct the american version of The Girl with the Drgaon Tattoo. With Rooney Mara to star as Lisbeth Salander.
I was browsing Youtube and came across this video, which I thought was pretty good collection of quotes.

I only saw this film for the first time yesterday, and I must say I’m pleased I did watch it. It was great. It starts out with Marion Crane with her lover Sam Loomis in a hotel room, which she has to sneak out during her lunch breaks to do. She wants to marry him, but he can.t because of alimony. she gets back to the real estate, and her boss entrusted her with $40,000 to deposit in the bank, but in the spur of the moment decides to keep them money and skip town and go see her lover. The road becomes dreary when it starts to rain severely, she decides to stay at the Bates Motel, there she meets owner Norman Bates. A peculiar man, who appears to have a controlling mother.
This is the film that set the standard for the slasher genre, I rate it next to Halloween. The suspense drew me in, and probably the most famous scene in horror “the shower scene” really frightened me. The use of the camera and the spooky sound effects made the horror more appealing. This one should really be apart of your DVD collection, it really is a cinematic masterpiece.
